Gray Goat Sports owner, Brian Gootee, talks about ways you can stay hydrated and have fun longer while cycling. Staying hydrated not only helps with your alertness, controlling appetite, and improving activity and sport performance, but it also keeps every day symptoms like fatigue, headaches, and dry skin at bay.

Best way to stay hydrated

Gray Goat Sports is now offering free bike maintenance clinics every Tuesday night starting at 7:00 PM. 

These clinics are hosted by Brandon Street, a Gray Goat mechanic with over 18 years of experience.  They are a great chance to learn about simple maintenance and more complex repairs.  No prior cycling or mechanic experience is required and everyone is encouraged to come. 

Clinics are designed to be a practical hands-on experience, so be sure bring your own bike!  Come ready to have fun, meet other cyclists, and learn more about your bike.  We ask that all participants arrive at Gray Goat Sports by 6:45PM on Tuesdays to ensure that everyone has a work station.

Wear, Don’t Carry, Your Helmet – While you may see cyclists riding with their helmets stylishly hung from their handlebars or backpacks, we strongly recommend keeping yours on your head every time you ride. This is important because accidents are called that for a reason. Even though you may think you’re safe riding down a quiet path or deserted trail, all kinds of things can go wrong — and when danger strikes, you may have no control over what happens. That’s why it’s smart to always keep your helmet on your head where it belongs. Besides, if you hang it from the bars, it could actually cause a crash by distracting you or even by falling off and into the front spokes.
